One of the reasons people don’t like Obama is b/c of his civility, respect, humility, convictions, and honesty. Why is this country and the people in it so allergic to these things? Why are people on this site not respectful of one another’s views even if they don’t agree? One of the reasons Obama can’t debate on a level that he would normally debate a male– It is b/c all candidates do what looks good in the public’s eye!! If a male looked like he was attacking Clinton (a woman) people would see him in that light. Face it–gender and race still play a factor whether we admit it or NOT. Don’t believe it? Check out the WV slaughter. The people not ready for change (old white folks and the uneducated working class). They still have trust issues that no one wants to admit. It doesn’t mean they are racist (well maybe some of the older folks)–it means that they are convicted just like Obama supporters are convicted to showing those set in their “old ways” that the old way of thinking is outdated, not servicing us the way they should and is no longer where we should place blind trust. He is walking a fine line, trying to keep his nose clean and trying not to succumb to the unheard of attacks that have not existed in any other campaign. Why isn’t McCain being crucified for his relationship with his pastor? (Have you heard his remarks about America?–probably not!). It’s on YouTube. Look it up. The definition of insanity–doing the same thing over and over and thinking that you will get a different outcome. We’ve done the Clintons, we’ve done the McCains…it’s time for a Change! YES WE CAN! I have faith in you even if we don’t completely agree.

Here are the questions and the answers on a platter with a side of reason.
Yes, Michael Vick was wrong.
Yes, people have opinions about celebrities they don’t even know.
Yes, there are well-bred pitbulls.
Yes, this country is in trouble.
Yes, racism still exists.
Yes, there are well-bred pitbulls that have attacked for no apparent reason.
Should Michael Vick receive the MAXIMUM penalty allowable by law? Possibly, if it is “just”ifiable and if it is a sentence less than that of a crime against a human. Unfortunately, no…dogs should not have the same rights as humans, it would introduce a slippery slope. (ie. Can we marry a dog? I tell you someone would try).
Should ALL pitbulls be regarded as dangerous? Yes and No. Keeping in mind that a pitbull is an animal and instinct can take over at any time…a pitbull should be raised well, handled with care and not left alone around children (there are stories…look them up).
Should we protest against more worthy causes? Yes. There are causes more worthy in this country than that of dogs.
Should we ignore this cause? No. However, the attention that this cause is getting pales in comparison to the number of children who go hungry each night.
Should there be a comparison? Yes. We prioritize in our everyday lives because if we don’t go to work we don’t eat. If we don’t clean the house the consequences are far less damaging (depending on who your husband or wife is). There should be differences made.
Is there something wrong with this country? Yes, we idolize entertainers and the rich and Famous…they will disappoint you everytime. It is a great burden that they hold and we should try to understand.
Is Michael Vick being singled out because he’s black? Possibly. There are those convinced that he is and those convinced that he isn’t. The fact that you can be completely convinced is proof that a problem still exists in this country. There is a disproportionate number of jailed African-Americans in this country. It stands to reason that a Black person might not view the justice system as fair for anyone of his race at any time. Every time a Black person is singled out…Blacks yell injustice. It stands to reason that a White person might begin to ignore the cryings of an unseemingly ending claim. Both have valid opinions. I would ask do you think that 400 years of slavery and numerous years of Jim Crow laws that have helped white America get ahead in this country are erased in less than 20? Be wise.
Stereotypes suck for dogs, races, sports heroes…
We have to start putting our foot down way before the Michael Vicks for there to be a valid claim that his offense was of significant importance. We have to be responsible on our own accord for far more important reasons. Michael Vick is not important to me because he’s not my hero. His violation is important because life is important. I do not believe that his violation should be unfairly punished. Making an example out of Michael Vick let’s us know our justice system is not as blind as she claims. Putting his sentencing in the hands of one man allows for bias to be involved. If Judge Hudson is a racist…he’ll never tell. If he isn’t… is he biased against those fortunate enough to make large sums of money and in the public eye? Does he hold PITA in high regard? We’ll never know THAT either. ONLY if he makes a just and fair ruling will we be able to consider that he is NOT a racist, he has NO bias against Michael Vick. and PITA did not influence his decision.
Yes, there are black people that “take responsibility” — this statement that I saw on another site in itself saddens me.
No. Racism will NEVER end. If people continue to ignore its possibility and Black people continue to see it everywhere…it will NOT end.
It is also not up to the oppressed to end it. It is up to EVERYone.
Yes, I am Black. I am proud to be so as well.
